Intelligent Motion: Intelligent vehiclesMitsubishi i-MiEV - the future is electric

The Mitsubishi i-MiEV

Proven

Based on the Mitsubishi i - a fully crash-tested, four-seat, air conditioned car capable of holding its own on the open road as well as around town - it is the culmination of almost forty years of MMC development.

Environmental

It benefits from zero emissions, zero road, registration and company car taxes, and zero congestion charges

Economical

It uses no petrol, is free to park in some areas and enjoys low insurance schemes and other financial incentives

Brisk

It reaches its top speed of 81mph extremely quickly, because it produces maximum torque instantly, and offers a range of up to 80 miles.

Charged

Its batteries reach full charge in 6 hours from a normal 240v domestic power supply (just like plugging in your kettle) or can be given an 80% charge in 30 minutes from a ‘quick charge’ system

i-MiEV is the first electric vehicle to be brought to a global market by a mainstream auto-manufacturer.

Mitsubishi is continuing to work with governments around the world to develop the quick charging stations which make EVs a truly viable option.

Currently London has over 100 stations with another 60 nationwide, and the Department of Transport is committed to a £20 million expenditure between 2009 and 2011 for charging stations and the related infrastructure.
